Seguin PD to Introduce “Cop Cards”

By Don Morgan

Kids in Seguin have a fun new way to get to know the city’s Police force.

They’re called cop cards. They resemble baseball or other trading cards a picture of a city Police Officer on the front and information about the officer on the back.

Officer Carlos Contreras talked to us about cop cards. He says the department wants to make sure area children have a positive experience when they meet up with a Police Officer.

He says many times, young people meet a Cop at a pretty intense time. The cards give children a reason to approach an officer just to say hello.

Once a child collects 30 different cop cards, they can stop by the police department for a free t-shirt of collectable coin.

Contreras says kids just need to ask for a card whenever they see an officer.
