Shirts to Benefit Fallen Firefighter’s Family

By Pilar Arias

The San Antonio Fire Department has revealed the officially sanctioned Scott Deem hero T-shirt.

All of the proceeds from shirt sales will go to the Generations FCU Deem memorial account, which will directly benefit fallen firefighter Deem’s wife Jennifer and their three children.

“We’re happy to do this for him and we appreciate the support,” SAFD spokesman Woody Woodward said.

The shirt, designed by fellow firefighters, is being called a workout of the day shirt to honor Deem’s enthusiasm for staying in shape.

“Scott was a huge fitness enthusiast. He was heavily involved in our Crossfit training program,” Woodward said.

Shirts can be purchased online at

Deem died during a northwest side strip mall fire May 18. He was laid to rest last week.
