Shootings Leave Kids On Life Support

Two small children are clinging to life after two separate late night shootings, and police could use some help from you in catching the people responsible.

The first happened at around 10:15 Wednesday Night in Cuellar Park–where a family was confronted by four men. That quickly escalated to gunfire–with a seven-year old and her mother hit by bullets.

“It’s our understanding the seven-year old is currently at University Hospital–and is on life support” SAPD Officer Douglas Greene told KTSA News.

After the shots were fired, Greene said the four men made a quick getaway.

“That suspect vehicle we’re looking for is a white Chevy Impala or Lumina… with tinted windows, and the front passenger side tire is a spare tire” Greene said.

About an hour later, Greene said a second shooting on Pecan Valley ended in gunfire.

“In the process of those gunshots being fired, one of those bullets went inside the residence, where a five-year old girl was sleeping in the front” Greene said. That child is also on life support, while the man involved in the dispute was also hit.

About an hour later, Greene said officers potted a vehicle matching the description of the one seen at that shooting.

“A chase ensued, and they were eventually able to catch that vehicle, and two suspects in that vehicle” Greene said.

One of those men has been charged in connection with the shooting on Pecan Valley. Greene said officers are still searching for three other men believed to have been involved.

If you have any information on either of these shootings, you’re urged to call police.
