Statewide Texting and Driving Ban Closer

Texting while driving in San Antonio can get you pulled over and ticketed already but now, Texans are one step closer to not being able to text while driving anywhere in the state.

The House Transportation Committee passed House Bill 62, which means texting and driving could be banned statewide.

This isn’t the first time lawmakers have tried to pass a statewide ban but Representative Tom Craddick who sponsored the bill says he’s confident it’s going to happen.

The bill now goes to the full House and Senate for votes.
