Strong 2016 Start for S.A. Realtors

New numbers from the San Antonio Board of Realtors show a strong start to 2016 for the Alamo City’s housing market.

Total monthly sales climbed by 7% when compared to January of 2015, with the average price climbing by 6% to $224,000.

By comparison, the average home price in Texas as a whole right now is just under $240,000.

The median price of a home in San Antonio is also up by 5% over the same time last year–now sitting just above $186,000.

SABOR Chair Bob Jacobs said the numbers are a sign of just how strong the market remains.

“In San Antonio, we have an inventory of 3 1/2 months, and we continue to see record numbers of sales and prices still below what others around the State are spending” Jacobs said.

“Last year we saw a record number of homes sold, so it’s no surprise 2016 started off so strongly” said SABOR President and CEO Angela Shields.
