Stuck Landing Gear Causes Tense Moments at the Airport

Some tense moments at San Antonio International Airport.

About 15 fire crews, including a hazmat unit, were dispatched to the airport around 10 a.m. Tuesday for an inflight emergency.

“It was an American Airlines E 190 that was in for maintenance,” Evelyn Bailey told KTSA News.

She says there was a problem with the landing gear so the pilots circled over San Antonio to burn off some fuel before attempting to land.

“There were no passengers on the plane, only the two pilots,” she said.

The pilots landed safely around 25 minutes later and no one was hurt.
