SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Your wait for waffle fries is getting longer.

Restaurant trade publication QSR Magazine reports fast food drive-thru waits are 20 seconds longer this year than in 2018.

The Magazine claims from the time you order until you get your food is an average of 255 seconds.

The wait time increases aren’t due to slow restaurant staff. Crowded lanes from drive-thru and mobile order customers and more menu offerings mean more time in line.

After more than 15-hundred visits to 10 fast food chains the speediest service is found at…

Dunkin’. The average wait time there is about 217 seconds.

The study indicates the faster times at Dunkin’ are likely due to a more straightforward menu with fewer items.

Wendy’s has the second shortest wait times followed by Burger King, Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr., KFC, Arby’s, Hardee’s and McDonald’s.

The longest wait times were found at Chik-fil-A with an average wait time is 323 seconds. The long waits there are due to the constant lines of people who choose to eat more chikin’.

Thankfully, Chik-fil-A employees are typically the kindest human beings on the planet. Who wants to spend 5 and half minutes to get food from a grump?

Late afternoon seems to be when the waits are longest while breakfast is when your time in line is the shortest.
