Teen Leads Deputies on Early Morning Chase

A teen driver is in some serious trouble after an early morning chase through parts of Northwest Bexar County.

It all began after Midnight Friday near Loop 1604 and Potranco, where a Deputy spotted a car without its tail lights on.

“Unfortunately, the teenager decided to evade–and took off rather than pull over” Roseanne Hughes with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office told KTSA News, adding the chase did come to an end a short time later near Highway 90 and Hunt Lane.

“Speeds were no more than forty miles per hour… eventually, the teenager did stop–and he was placed under arrest and charged with evading” Hughes said.

In all of this, Deputies said there is a lesson for parents too.

“During this time, the teenager called our dispatchers and said he believed he was being chased–and he was afraid to stop… It is important for parents to talk to their teenagers about cooperating with law enforcement” Hughes said.
