Texans Kick Off Training Camp

The Houston Texans open training camp with lofty expectations.

“Houston does have Super Bowl expectations, legitimate Super Bowl expectations,” ESPN San Antonio’s Jason Minnix told KTSA News.

It’s thank in part to a Super Bowl caliber defense, but questions exist on the offensive side of the ball.

“But for the first time under Bill O’Brien, they go into camp without a quarterback battle going on,” he said. “It’s Brock Osweiler, they put all that money into Brock in the off-season now he’s gotta step up and deliver.”

JJ Watt’s recent surgery is a concern.

“The timing of this back injury and surgery isn’t good, obviously he’s going to miss all of training camp,” Minnix said. “For the Texans, they better just hope he doesn’t miss too many regular season games.”

On the line: a chance to play in the Super Bowl on home field.
