Texas Has Lowest Statewide Average Gas Prices In U.S

Texas drivers are seeing a slight drop in gas prices this week.

Triple A says the state wide average in Texas is at 2.26. While we are enjoying the dip in prices, we’re paying an average of 18 cents a gallon more than we were a year ago.

That statewide average is still 24 cents less than the national average, giving Texas the lowest average statewide price in the country.

The San Antonio average comes in at 2.21. That’s not the lowest in the state but pretty close. The Fort Worth area average price is 2.15. The highest prices are in Midland at 2.54.

Don’t expect the drop to continue for long. Several major refineries are about to shut down for seasonal maintenance. That will result in a price rebound in early March.
