Trey’s Take: Better Not Sit

John Tortorella, the head coach of Team USA in the upcoming World Cup of Hockey has a message for his players – you better not sit during the National Anthem.

Coach Tortorella is warning his players, “If any of my players sit on the bench during the national anthem they will sit there the rest of the game.”

Tortorella is very passionate about the USA and has a strong sense of patriotism. His son, Dominick is an Army Ranger in the 75th Regiment. The younger Tortorella spends most of his time away from home overseas. His family rarely hears from him and most of the time doesn’t even know where he is.

They know one thing – he is fighting for freedom and the for this great country he loves.

“They allow us our freedoms in such a crazy time in our world,” says coach Tortorella.

Right on, coach.

While I will not watch a 49ers football game this year, I think I just might watch and cheer on Team USA in Hockey. I don’t care much about hockey, but I sure love what their coach stands for.
