TREY’s TAKE: Hillary Thinks People Should Pay Taxes They Don’t Owe

“Over and over again the Courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. Everyone does it, rich and poor alike and all do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more than the law demands.” – Judge Learned Hand 1935 tax case.

Do you pay taxes you do not owe? Of course not. People pay only what they owe and no more.

Hillary Clinton has been wailing and gnashing her teeth for days about how Donald Trump is “cheating the government” by not paying taxes he legally doesn’t owe.

In doing so she is redefining a “tax cheat.” In Mrs. Clinton’s world, a tax cheat is someone who refrains from paying more taxes than what they owe.

“He’s (Trump) cheating the government,” she screamed into the microphone Saturday.

Every spring, millions of Americans sit down with their tax calculator or their CPA and struggle to find every legal deduction possible so as to minimize their tax obligation. Many Americans end up owing nothing, and they receive IRS refunds. Are they “cheating the government?”

Is there anything in Hillary’s tax records which would indicate she paid one cent more than what she owed?

I wonder if she screams “cheater” to herself in the mirror.

This goes back to the fact that liberals believe all money belongs to the government except that which they allow us to keep. In other words, they decide how much we need to survive, and the government gets to keep the rest.

After all, “you didn’t build that.” And, “at some point you’ve made enough.” (quotes from Obama).

The tax codes of many nations, the U.S. included, feature the waiver used by Trump in order to encourage entrepreneurs to take risks. By utilizing this tax “carry-forward” Trump was able to keep his businesses going and employ thousands of people who bought food, cars, housing, and PAID TAXES.

In other words, he stimulated the economy through free enterprise, and paid employment taxes through his employees.

When was the last time you tried that, Mrs. Clinton?

I eagerly await the press conference which will feature Hillary announcing she will voluntarily pay more taxes than what the law says she owes.

Come on Hillary, quit cheating the government. Pay what you don’t owe.
