Two Men on the Run after a Crash and a Shooting

by Elizabeth Ruiz

A couple of suspects are on the run after a crash and a shooting in the city’s west side.

A car crashed into three parked vehicles around 2 this morning and ended up on the porch of a home on Saunders near Zarzamora.

Police say the two men ran away, but returned to get something out of their car. That’s when a neighbor, identified as 49-year-old Juan Pena, pulled a knife on one of the men to keep him from fleeing. The other man shot Pena and both suspects got away.

Officers have been unable to locate them.  Pena is reported in fair condition at a local hospital.
