Two of Three Injured Laredo Officers Released from S.A. Hospitals

Two of three Laredo Police Officers wounded in a shootout Friday have been released from hospitals.

Officer Mario Casares was discharged from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio Sunday Afternoon. He then traveled to University Hospital to visit fellow officers Arturo Vela and Agapito Perez.

All were wounded while confronting suspected killer Antonio Rodriguez in a convenience store parking lot in Laredo.

Officer Vela was also released from the hospital. Both he and Casares received a police escort back to Laredo.
