TX Gas Price Average Falls to $2

Another bench mark when it comes to the price at the gas pump in Texas.

“Statewide, our average is at that $2 mark–and, we’re paying 49-cents less than at this time last year” Sarah Schimmer with AAA Texas told KTSA News.

The San Antonio average has also tumbled by three-cents over the last week–now sitting at $1.97–despite all of those road trips people seem to be taking these days.

“Lots of demand–but, the nationwide supply is so ample, it’s able to fill the demand we’re seeing” Schimmer said.

If you are planning a road trip this weekend–you’ll notice the highest average prices to our west–the lowest to the northwest.

“We’re finding the City of Amarillo has the least expensive gasoline at $1.85–El Paso has the most expensive at $2.12” Schimmer said.
