UIW Wrongful Death Argument

The Texas Supreme Court will hear arguments today on whether University of the Incarnate Word can claim immunity as a government entity in a wrongful death lawsuit.

The family of Cameron Redus is suing the private school over the fatal shooting of an honors student by a campus police officer three years ago. A lower court ruled against the university last year.

UIW claims it qualifies for immunity because it uses a police force licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
