Viral Video Encourages Everyone To Put Down Their Phones, And Look Up

“This media we call social is anything but, when we open our computers and it’s our doors we shut…”

This is one of the most vital messages, and chances are it applies to most of the people in your life. Look Up is a spoken word for the online generation. Written, performed and directed by Gary Turk, it is an extremely important life lesson for our youth. In his viral message that as accumulated a whopping 57 million views on YouTube, Turk describes the technology epidemic; children growing up in a world where they don’t play outside or socialize in person with their friends as much as they used to; communication is handled mostly via text message or over the internet. Heck, I’m guilty of it myself!

Turk tells the story of what happens when a young man and young woman decide to put away their phones. They happen to bump into one another on the street, and because they weren’t looking down at a screen, well… let’s just say the rest is history. See it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
