“Winter Thaw” Continues at TX Gas Pumps

You just might want to call it a “winter thaw” in those prices at the gas pump.

New numbers from AAA Texas show the Statewide average price per gallon of regular unleaded has fallen by four-cents over the last week. Heading in to the weekend, the San Antonio average is also down by three-cents per gallon–putting it at $2.05–among the lowest averages in the State of Texas.

Across the board, the average price per gallon of regular unleaded fell in every major metropolitan area in the Lone Star State over the last week, with the sharpest declines seen in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Experts said recent increased oil production is likely part of what’s putting downward pressure on pump prices.

The current highest average price per gallon can be found in El Paso.
