Woman Dead in Early Morning Fire

Did burglar bars prevent firefighters from getting inside of a burning home and rescuing a woman trapped inside?

That question has been raised after a deadly early Monday Morning fire near Crestway and O’Connor in North Bexar County.

“The call came in at about 2:40 in the morning” said Bexar County’s Laura Jesse, adding “When firefighters arrived, the home was fully involved. There were burglar bars on the house, which made it difficult for them to get inside of the home.”

Firefighters did finally make it inside, only to make a gruesome discovery.

“Once they were able to get in they discovered the body of a female” Jesse said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
