The FBI is looking for a woman they believe is involved in a kidnapping for ransom scheme out of Laredo.

The FBI says the Border Patrol Missing Migrant Program contacted them Thursday about the scheme.  They say undocumented immigrants were being kidnapped in Laredo and being held for ransom.

Agents believe three people have kidnapped several of these migrants and have held them against their will.  The kidnappers would call the victims’ family members demanding ransoms to ensure their loved one’s release.

Investigators say they believe the victims were held in captivity for several days, threatened with weapons and were provided with a limited amount of food.

The FBI is looking for a woman named Brittany Pena, who they say has information about this kidnapping ring.  She is described as being a 22-year-old Hispanic woman who stands 5’2″, weighs 150 lbs., has light skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

You are encouraged to contact the FBI’s San Antonio office at 210-225-6741 if you have any information about Pena or about this kidnapping scheme.  You can also provide tips anonymously online on the FBI’s website.
