12-year-old accused of making online threats against seven San Antonio schools appears in court
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The 12-year-old who was arrested over the weekend for making online threats against seven San Antonio schools appeared in court Wednesday.
The boy is accused of posting a photo of high powered weapons with the names of the schools and future dates in September.
San Antonio Police along with the Texas Rangers tracked down the boy and arrested him Saturday.
After hearing from the boy’s mother, who claimed her child was just joking, and from the defense attorney who said the pictures where from an Amazon shopping cart, the judge decided the child will remain in custody.
The defense went on to claim the child had been bullied and at some point had been pushed down some stairs.
During the court appearance, the judge said the threats were serious, and there are different ways to handle bullies.
The boy’s next detention hearing will be held September 25.
