15 year old shot while in a car with other juveniles and several firearms

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio Police have learned more about the shooting of a teenager on the city’s East side.

It was a sure set up for tragedy when a group of juveniles were handling some firearms inside of a car parked on South Olive Street.

At around 11 P.M. Sunday, one of them, a 16 year old male, accidentally fired the gun. The bullet hit a 15 year old male in the chest.

Someone else in the car called for help.

While EMS workers were treating the wounded teenager, police managed to find a bullet casing near the vehicle the teens were in.

The victim was brought to University Hospital in stable condition. He’s expected to survive the shooting.

Police brought the other teens in for questioning and were able to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.  Officers also found other weapons in the car during their search.

No word yet on what charges will be filed against the teenager who fired the gun.

That information will be available once the investigation is complete.
