16 year old escapes from custody in Austin

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 16 year old Corpus Christi youth is on the run after escaping from Texas Juvenile Justice Department custody.

Erik Robinson was undergoing treatment at the Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin. He had been outside for supervised recreation when the climbed a wall and ran away.

Robinson is a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

He has blonde hair, blue eyes and has scars on his right wrist, left hand and on his back. He was last seen wearing a gray Adidas sweat shirt and gray sweat pants.

TJJD issued the following statement:

“While TJJD typically does not reveal the identities of youth, in situations such as an escape the agency does so to help ensure public safety and the safety of the youth. Residents in the area near Dell Children’s and in Corpus Christi are asked to remain vigilant. If they see anyone who matches Robinson’s description, do not engage him but please call 9-1-1.”
