16 year old injured when shooter opens fire on group of teenagers playing basketball

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 16 year old is in the hospital after he was shot in a drive-by on the Southwest side.

KSAT-12 reports the teen was playing basketball with some friends in the 200 block of West Gerald Avenue at around 12:30 A.M. Thursday.

Someone in a dark colored van pulled up and started shooting at the group.

The victim was hit by a bullet fragment and taken to university Hospital. He’s expected to recover.

Police say the group of teens at the scene aren’t cooperating with investigators and the search for the shooter continues.
