2020 Fiesta medals depict Baby Yoda, Flaming Cheetos and Davy Crockett sugar skull

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo hasn’t opened yet, and Fiesta won’t start until April 16, but Fiesta medals already are making the rounds.

Credit for the first Baby Yoda Fiesta Medal –you knew it was coming–goes to Merit Coffee. It features Baby Yoda wearing a sombrero while holding a coffee mug.

SA Flavor is planning a Fiesta Medal Release party Jan. 28 at Floore’s Country Store, but several of the sought-after items already are selling online.  Many of them  raise money for non-profit organizations.

Garrett Heath recently unveiled this year’s SA Flavor food-inspired Fiesta medal on Facebook Live. It’s the egg-and-bacon breakfast taco medal with two versions to choose from–bacon strips or chopped bacon. Each sells for $10 and one dollar from the sale of each one  will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.

Another medal depicts the famous North Star Mall boots with stars that light up. There’s a hot cheetos medal, a Fiesta Chica medal that looks like a four-pack of Topo Chico and a Davy Crockett sugar skull  with the words,”You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Fiesta.” It was inspired by Crockett’s famous quote after he lost his bid for Congress in Tennessee. “You may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas.”

You can visit SA Flavor online, the Fiesta Store on Broadway and other locations for Fiesta medals.  Chances are your favorite non-profit organization is selling them to raise money.
