22 year old New Braunfels woman struck by a train

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A young woman was killed when she was hit by a train that was traveling through a residential area of New Braunfels.

She’s identified as 22 year old Carrigan Georg.

Police say she was apparently laying on the tracks near the 600 block of Hill Avenue at around 8:45 Wednesday evening. The Amtrak commuter train was on it’s way to San Antonio when it struck Georg.

During the initial investigation by New Braunfels Police and Union Pacific, rail traffic was stopped for more than 2 hours. At this point there’s no indication as to why she was on the tracks.

Georg was pronounced dead at the scene.
