NWS: Excessive Heat Warning for San Antonio, Heat Advisory for Hill Country

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the San Antonio area.

Forecasters say temperatures will climb into the 105-109 degree range for areas within the warning through Wednesday evening. Of particular concerns is the heat index in some areas that could reach anywhere from 108-116, which could be life-threatening for some people spending significant time outdoors during the day.

The hottest temperatures will also affect an area stretching from the I-35 Corridor into the Coastal Plains.

Heat related illness is possible for those not taking the following proper precautions:

▪ Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks out of the sun, and check up on relatives
and neighbors.

▪ Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening and know the symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

▪ Never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles.
