4 injured during shootout on San Antonio’s northeast side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Four people are hospitalized after a shootout Sunday night on San Antonio’s Northeast Side.

The shots rang out at around 9:30 P.M. on Midcrown. Police say three people drove to the home because they wanted to start a fight with 35 year old Krystal Reed.

They arrived to find 6 people in the front yard but got out of the vehicle anyway and started arguing with Reed.

At some point, somebody pulled out a gun that was loaded with bird shot and opened fire.

Reed, along with 34 year old Joshua Lawrence were hit by pellets. They were both brought to SAMMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The people in the car took off but they didn’t get away unharmed. Two of them had gunshot wounds of their own. Police are trying to determine if they were struck when Lawrence returned fire or if they were hit when the bird shot they were using ricocheted off a door.

They were both brought to University Hospital and their injuries are not considered life threatening.

The case is still being investigated.
