4 year old drowns at family gathering

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Tragedy at a family gathering on the Southeast Side of San Antonio.

A 4 year old girl was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at around 10 P.M. Sunday.

Her family says the girl was playing in a small, shallow pool next to a larger one.

But a short time later, another child at the gathering told them that the girl was in the large pool.

She was at the bottom of the pool and someone jumped in to rescue her. The girl was flown to an area hospital but died a short time later.

Police say it was an accidental drowning.
