$5K offered for information leading to arrest of suspect in fatal Sonic Drive-In shooting
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department has one suspect in custody in connection to a fatal shooting at a Sonic Drive-In, but the search continues for another suspect believed to be the actual shooter.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Adiah Namir Roberson, 17.
The suspect in custody is Joshua Albert Joseph, who was picked up by U.S. Marshals in mid-August and then charged with murder.
Investigators say Joseph was with Roberson and another woman at the fast food restaurant located in the 5500 block of Babcock Road on July 7. SAPD says the three tried to pay for their order with fake money, but manager Daniel Shrewsbury caught on to the plan and then pointed out the problem.
Police say the group eventually paid with real money before taking some change from a cup on the way out. Detectives say Shrewsbury then went outside to get a photo of the car and license plate.
An SAPD spokeswoman says there was an argument between Shrewsbury and Joseph, which included a threat to shoot the manager. At that point, investigators say Roberson shot Shrewsbury, who was killed.
If you have any information on Roberson’s whereabouts, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867 (STOP). You can also text a tip by texting CRIMES (274637) and including ‘Tip 127 plus your tip.’
