We had a tornadic storm that moved north through Fayette County on the West Side of La Grange and produced some damage to businesses along U.S. 71 near the airport just west of La Grange,” said meteorologist Jason Runyon with the National Weather Service.

Runyon told KTSA News they haven’t confirmed that it was indeed a tornado.

“It would take us going out there and surveying the pattern of the damage and the extent of the damage to determine if it was a tornado,” said Runyon.

He said they expect to send a team to inspect the damage later Friday or Saturday.

Photos and video shared on Fayette County’s EMS Facebook Page show damaged cars and buildings, including a church.
