A VIA bus driver has succumbed to COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) –  VIA Metropolitan Transit has announced that one of its bus drivers has died of complications from COVID-19. Harvey Fauria , who had worked for the company for five years, passed away last Thursday.

VIA President and CEO Jeffrey Arndt says Fauria is remembered as a well-liked and respected employee “who was easy-going with a smile bigger than life.”

“Our thoughts are with Mr. Fauria’s family, who have our deepest condolences during this difficult time,” Arndt aid in a Facebook post.

VIA is asking riders to help keep transit workers and other frontline personnel safe by observing pandemic safety precautions.
