SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A lot of your fellow Texans will be hitting the road for Thanksgiving.
AAA Texas is projecting 5.7 million Lone Star State residents are going to travel for the holiday. That’s up 1.3% over last year. Most travelers will be on the road with about 300,000 Texans traveling by air.
The auto club says the busiest travel days will be Tuesday, November 26, Wednesday, November 27, and Sunday, December 1.
They recommend you get behind the wheel early in the morning in order to avoid the heaviest traffic.
AAA expects nearly 80 million people nationwide will be traveling for Thanksgiving.
