AAA Texas: San Antonio gas prices continue to fall

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — New numbers from AAA Texas show the average price of gas in San Antonio has fallen 14 cents over the last week, which brings the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded to $3.12.

Falling gas prices are being seen all over Texas, where drivers have the lowest gas price average in the country.

“Texas gas prices are down 32 percent from this summer’s record highs and are the cheapest in the nation today,” said AAA Texas spokesperson Daniel Armbruster. “Retail gas prices are expected to continue to decline as the price of crude oil decreases. However, fluctuations remain possible as markets are sensitive to geopolitical events such as the war in Ukraine.”

The statewide gas price average in Texas is $3.21 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which is 13 cents less than the price a week ago today.

Drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $3.48 per gallon while drivers in the McAllen metro are paying the least at $3.02 per gallon.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.75, which is eight cents less when compared to this day last week, but 57 cents more than the price per gallon at this same time last year.
