SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — You’ll be hearing and seeing a lot more of Governor Greg Abbott in the coming months.

According to the Texas Tribune, the Governor’s re-election campaign is about to spend 20 million dollars in early ad buys.

The report indicates Abbott has reserved $2.75 million for Hispanic media buys, $8.8 million for TV and another $8.15 million for digital platforms.

Abbott reportedly has a huge financial advantage over the campaign of Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke. A campaign finance report in February showed the Abbott campaign with nearly 50 million in cash on hand compared to the O’Rourke campaign reporting just under $7 million in cash.

The early ad buys gives Abbott the advantage of locking in the most valuable ad times and digital spots throughout the 4 months leading up to the election.
