Air Force Cadet from Texas dies at U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Police in Colorado are investigating the death of a cadet from Texas at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Officials at the Academy say 19-year-old Cadet 4th Class Avery Koonce was found unresponsive in her dorm room Wednesday night.

First responders tried to keep her alive but were unsuccessful.

Koonce, who was from Taylor, Texas, was expected to graduate as a second lieutenant in 2028.

The cause of her death is under investigation.
