Alamo Plaza Dig Winding Down

It looks like the digging in Alamo Plaza is starting to wind down.

“We hope to have just a couple of days next week to dig a little bit more” researcher Kristi Nichols said Friday Morning–quickly adding the weather over the weekend might have a say in how the plan unfolds.

“We’re kind of holding off at this point to get a better idea of whether or not we’re going to hit some rain this weekend–and, if it’s going to slow us down next week” Nichols said.

Meanwhile, the team searching for signs of the Alamo’s original south and west walls is shifting more of it’s focus on analyzing what they have seen and found so far.

“Where different versions of the walls could have been, and we’re doing overlays on top of current aerials–and trying to get a better grasp of maybe what are we seeing” Nichols said.

The results of the research project will be used in helping to create a new “master plan” for the Alamo Complex.
