Animal Care Services holding emergency adoption event

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Animal Care Services needs to ease overcrowding at the San Antonio pet shelter so they’re holding an emergency adoption event.

Beginning Monday and running through Saturday, fees are being reduced for some of the shelter’s harder to adopt pets.

Dogs that are 40 pounds and over and those over 7 years old will have reduced adoption fees of $25.

If you’re hoping to add a cat to your family, adoption fees for felines over 6 months old are $5.

All of the pets that are adopted during the week long event are sterilized, have their vaccines and are microchipped.

You can head to the ACS website to search for the perfect pet. You don’t need to make an appointment before heading to the shelter at 4710 State Highway 151 but they are recommended.
