Archdiocese of San Antonio lays out school opening plan

BEXAR COUNTY, Tex. (KTSA News) — The Archdiocese of San Antonio said it will be giving its individual Catholic schools options on how they plan to start this coming school year.

Parents will have three instructional options for their children:

  • On-campus live instruction
  • Remote learning without live instruction
  • Remote learning with live instruction

The first day of classes will be determined by the individual schools and will happen sometime between August 17th and September 8th.  Exact dates will be determined before August 1st.

The archdiocese said those who choose to do on-campus learning will go through what it calls a re-integration process where students will gradually return to campus in small groups.

The archdiocese also said it has established safety protocols, which will include physical distancing; masks to be worn at all times except for recess and physical education classes; students and visitors answering screening questions before being allowed on campus, taking temperature checks, and restricting access to visitors; and school buildings will be frequently cleaned and disinfected..
