SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A familiar face rejoins the San Antonio city council to fill the vacant District 2 seat.

The council voted 7-3 Thursday afternoon to appoint former District 8 councilman Art Hall to the job.

Hall asserted that his previous experience on the council would allow him to help the city through some major matters that will need to be resolved before the May election, like the hiring of a new city manager.

The new councilman said in his interview with the other council members Wednesday that he does not plan to run for the seat in May.  There were some questions over whether he legally could as a former councilman, a position Hall said he could if he chose to pursue that route.

The three no votes were cast by Roberto Trevino, Rebecca Viagran and Greg Brockhouse, who all stated their support for Jada Sullivan.

Hall must wait 10 days before being seated on the council.
