SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A historic building at the Pearl will be transformed into a live music venue and biergarten.
The Stable Hall at the Pearl that used to house the brewery’s draft horses will now seat 1,000 guests and be home to an outdoor biergarten that will pay homage to German Hill Country roots with fare that includes kolaches, bratwurst, pretzels, craft beer, specialty cocktails and more.
The venue and restaurant are expected to open next Spring.
“Stable Hall is San Antonio’s newest oldest music venue. This venue will capture the authenticity of historic dance halls in the country and usher the next chapter of music in San Antonio by honoring the roots of our region and showcasing the best in live music,” said Elizabeth Fauerso, CEO of Pearl Commercial. “San Antonio has a significant legacy—from artists like Robert Johnson and Lydia Mendoza to genres including conjunto and country—our region is central to the story of American music. With a commitment to celebrating the joy of live music while honoring musicians and their craft, Stable Hall will be a place for us to gather in the shared joy of music.”
The centerpiece of the performance hall will be the Jewel Box Stage that will be surrounded by floor seating and a curved balcony with seating, accented by rough-hewn wooden floors, hand-painted murals and a restored wood ceiling.
Stable Hall will be operated by entertainment developer and operator WoodHouse that has produced events including The Green Room, Trees, Gypsy Tea Room, and Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival in Franklin, Tennessee.
“I could not be more excited to partner with Pearl and our Stable Hall team, including long-time partner and San Antonio native Erick Schlather (co-founder of local favorites The Monterey, Barbaro and Hot Joy), to develop this world-class venue for San Antonio. With San Antonio and the region’s rich music history and Pearl’s now legendary status as a cultural mecca, the time has come for a music venue of this size and caliber. Stable Hall ushers in a rising tide of music in San Antonio, and we are honored to lead it,” said WoodHouse Principal Brandt Wood.
Stable Hall is located at 307 Pearl Parkway.
