Attorney General Paxton warns Texans to watch for PPE scams

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It’s a problem we could only have during a pandemic. Texans are getting ripped off when buying counterfeit of non-existent personal protection equipment.

Attorney General Ken Paxton is warning you to watch out for this latest scam.

The demand for PPE is growing and scammers are advertising equipment they either don’t actually have or it’s extremely poor quality.

There are some signs to watch for that will help you avoid being a victim of a PPE scam.

They include last minute price changes, unusual payment terms or last minute excuses for shipment delays.

Paxton says there are numerous price gouging investigations at the state and federal levels.

If you have fallen victim to a PPE scam, you can submit a complaint online.
