SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District with a reminder about the importance of staying vaccinated.

School starts soon and along with making sure your child has all the supplies they need for the classroom, take the time to go over their vaccination records to make sure they are up to date.

And it’s not just children who need to stay up to date. Metro Health says vaccines play an important role in protecting against diseases like the flu, measles and pneumonia.

If you’re not sure about when you and your family were last vaccinated, get in touch with your family doctor. If you need to get up to date, Metro Health has vaccination clinics that you can visit at 210 Mel Waiters Way and at 1226 NW 18th St.
