School Cancellation, Delays

The Bandera Independent School District has canceled classes, but teachers and staff are being asked to report at 10:30 this morning. Comal ISD is starting 1 hour late. The Navarro Independent School District in Seguin has a 2-hour delay.  Buses are running two hours later than usual.

The Hondo ISD is also closed Thursday.

For many students in the San Antonio area, the last day of school is a soggy mess.

A Flash Flood Warning  remains in effect until 7 this morning for Bexar County and parts of Comal and Guadalupe Counties.

Both directions of the lower level of IH 35 are closed between Cesar Chavez Boulevard and St. Mary’s. There are several road closures all around San Antonio and crews have been busy all morning with high water rescues.

There’s flooding just south of downtown on IH 37 at IH 10 and Highway 90 is closed at Loop 1604 because of high water.

At last check, nearly  15,000 CPS Energy customers were affected by power outages.

The storms are moving toward the east, so we’ll have a temporary break from the torrential downpours later this morning.
