Bandit steals 400 dollars worth of Bud Light from San Antonio convenience store

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — We all know a LOT of people love beer. But I’m willing to bet a six pack of your favorite suds that they are not willing to go to jail for it.

Not the case for 42 year old Hector Del Rio.

He is accused of stealing several cases of brew from a Southwest side convenience store.

KSAT-12 reports Del Rio walked in a Quick Trip on Old Pearsall Road, grabbed some Bud Light and walked out without paying.

Even if you’re not a Bud Light fan you have to admit, Del Rio’s actions were not in compliance with the law.

A member of the store’s management team saw what was going on and walked to the cooler to see how much beer was stolen. That’s when Del Rio came back into the store for another illegal beer run.

Before reaching for more beer he pulled up his shirt to show he had a gun and according to a police affidavit told the store employee “this is the way it’s going to be”. The he walked out with more cases of beer and drove away.

Del Rio must have been real thirsty that night because he actually came back to the store before police could arrive and took more beer. The employee, who was aware that Del Rio was armed, didn’t try to stop the beer drinking bandit.

Police used surveillance video to identify Del Rio and his vehicle. He was taken into custody on aggravated robbery charges.

The total price tag on the beer he stole…$400.
