BCSO: 12-year-old student arrested, accused of making shooting threats

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the arrest of a 12-year-old student in the Northside Independent School District.

In a Tuesday release, BCSO says the arrest was made because of a threat made toward another student. Specifically, investigators say the student from Luna Middle School in West Bexar County threatened to shoot another student during a FaceTime call made on Saturday.

“It’s vital that parents speak to children about the serious consequences attached to making threats,” said Sheriff Javier Salazar. ” The BCSO will investigate these cases vigorously and will make arrests when appropriate.”

Investigators say the student also showed photos of guns and made additional threats to “shoot up the school.”

The student was suspended from school when word got out regarding the threats, and BCSO was notified immediately. An arrest warrant followed, and the student was picked up at a house. A search of that home turned up .380 caliber pistol with an extended magazine, bullets, two fake pistols and two different plate carriers for body armor.

The student was taken to the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with making felony terroristic  threats.

This is a developing story and KTSA News will give more details when possible.
