SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Democratic Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is off the campaign trail for a while.
The 78 year old was at a campaign event in Las Vegas on Tuesday and started to experience chest discomfort.
He was taken to the hospital and doctors located the cause.
A blockage in an artery.
Doctors inserted two stents and the Senator is recovering and said to be in “good spirits.”
The campaign has canceled several events and appearances while he recovers.
Sanders is the oldest of the Democratic Presidential candidates.
