Bexar County DA appoints election response team

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – In the wake of what has been one of the most litigious and contentious election cycles in recent memory, the Bexar County District Attorney has appointed five attorneys to respond to legal issues that may arise during the voting process.

“We want to ensure in Bexar County that we’ve done everything we can to conduct the election process here in the most orderly and efficient manner possible,” said DA Joe Gonzales.  “Basically, this response team is available to the elections office to handle any legal issues that come up.”

The DA’s Election Response Team will field calls from election judges who have questions concerning voter eligibility or other issues. He noted that the attorneys will handle only inquiries from elections office staff–not the general public.  Voters who have concerns or complaints are urged to contact law enforcement so that the issues can be investigated and possibly filed with the DA’s office.
