BCSO: Deputies find decomposed body in refrigerator, son arrested

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is in custody after deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office found the badly decomposed body of his father stuffed into a refrigerator.

The investigation began when the family of the man in his 70’s reported that they had not heard from him in several months.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says deputies then went to the man’s home in the 7500 block of Rustic Trail Thursday afternoon and began searching the house for him.

When one of the deputies opened the fridge, he made the gruesome discovery.

The son, who is reported to be in his 40’s, was taken into custody. He is now identified as David Michael Gibson, aged 48.

Sheriff Salazar says it is not clear if the man had been murdered and whether or not Gibson is responsible for his death. He adds they aren’t sure how long his body had been in the refrigerator.
