SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy was indicted Wednesday morning for a late 2018 bar outburst.
The sheriff’s office said 29-year-old Edmundo Renteria got into a verbal argument at a bar in December 2018. A security guard tried to escort him out, but he came back to the bar and threatened to shoot it up.
Renteria was indicted Wednesday morning on a charge of terroristic threatening and turned himself in later in the day.
He had been employed with the office since June 2014 and was placed on administrative leave after the incident.
The sheriff’s office said Renteria has been notified of his termination from his employment.
